Spiritually
also no more basic bitch pitch decks, they gave up on dogs, and what to do when you lose your sparkle
¿What you heard?
“Sorry I’m late. I was delivering a baby.”
He wasn’t, but who’s gonna argue with that?
I warmed up to Le Latecomer even more as, for the rest of the meeting, he kept on appending spiritually to the end of his sentences.
He didn’t do it quite enough for me to get a strong grasp of exactly how to use it, but I’m going to make a valiant attempt at it on my own, just as I did for in the fullness of time a while back.
I been hanging around too many white people these days… spiritually.
How’s that?
What you doin’?!
In the before times, pitch decks all took the same stills from the same films and so looked alike and blah.
Nowadays, they all AI and so look alike and blah.
For Gullah Binyah, the children’s semi-documentary educational TV show about Blackness I’m developing, a huge part of the pitch is that the show has a unique look achieved through a unique production workflow, which means that I am pressured to make the deck for this thing truly look not like other girls.
To do this, I have liberated myself from Shotdeck and dirtied up that Midjourney sheen and made something other, something like the lil animation up above.
What you seen??
GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE (2021-) is the most ailurophilic (new word!!) thing I’ve ever seen, which feels like a betrayal since it’s created by the same person that made Blue’s Clues (1996-2007).
In the first season’s final episode, “MerCat Gets Her Sparkle Back,” MerCat loses her sparkle… but then she gets it back.
She puts on some spot remover cream, and suddenly, she just turns straight up white and gray — colorless. It’s only through a face mask, soap, and bathing with a magical fish scale that she finally regains her beautiful purple-blue-turquoise palette.
A similar thing happens to the protagonist of my script Black Genesis except that, in my story, Yakub loses his color when he starts to believe the mean things his bullies say about him and only regains the brown in his skin once he relearns to love himself.
